CHOOSING RATTAN FURNITURE FOR OUTDOOR

Rattan furniture basically is for indoor but sometimes it can be used for outdoor. In some country that mostly have more sunlight in whole year, the use of rattan furniture for outdoor is not a big deal. However,  in some countries that have some seasons it faces some problem with the weather because the nature of rattan is not restraint to weather and easily  mouldy. 


Rattan furniture divides into 2 types based on the materials, they are natural material and synthetic material. Natural comes from some
plant that finally manage to be the raw material. There are rattan pole, wicker, cane, Flat Oval, Peel, Abaca, Banana, Croco, Slimit, Kubu, and Pulut. Whereas, synthetic material comes from synthetic process which is made in the shape of natural rattan material such as Pitrit, Peel, Croco and so on.

If we cannot carefully select rattan furniture with natural material, we may have some problem with woodborer, moldy, materials defect and colour-fading. To your surprise, the furniture you bought will be burned out at the end of the year. We give you some tips below to choose natural material for outdoor furniture.

There are some natural materials that can be used for outdoor furniture. They are safe, weather restraint and water resistant. We recommend to choose Croco, Pulut, Slimit and Kubu Soft as the materials because they are strong covered with unpeeled skin. Generally, the size is at diameter 3-9mm. The colour finishing will be in natural doff or only sanding and melamic without additional colour. This material also is possible to apply to swimming pool furniture such as sun lounger, lounger and day bed. Important tips : do not choose seagrass, waterhyacinth or abaca to be the materials as they are easily moldy.

Or, if you do not want to take any chances if you choose natural materials for your outdoor furniture just simply select synthetic material. It is safe, durable, restraint to any weather, no colour-fading and surely light. The frame will be aluminium that is designed to rattan furniture. Other advantage is easily moulded, shaped and strong that we can easily apply design that cannot be done with natural material. There are a lot of improvement in outdoor furniture design with the presence of this kind of material as all the design will be easily formed, strong, light and safe.
